Fistelbash (Sport)

FistelBash - Fistelbash is the sport of the continent of Tanaheim. It is a mixed martial arts team sport based on knocking opponents prone. Teams of 3, 4 or 5 compete against each other in the pit which is a circle within a circle. Players work together to knock two of their opponents prone at the same time, scoring a point and winning the round. Players knocked down must be in the center circle to score the point. Players wear only trousers and nothing else. There are three rounds and the first team to 2 points wins. There are leagues competing in each of the major cities and even large towns will have several teams. Each year there is a Fistelbash world cup which meets in Penthos for a continent wide championship. Different Fistelbash pits will have different dimensions and sometimes will throw in obstacles or environmental hazards. Everything from sawhorses or posts, crates, wooden beams, or even stone columns. Combat must be hand to hand, so no weapons or armor and the environmental hazards can only be used for positioning no actual using of them as weapons. Many players will try to cheat of course. The use of magically enhanced tattoos, cantrips, or small magic items hidden in pants are illegal but difficult for refs to spot or manage. Players are warned to abide by the rules but play only at the risk of your own health. Leaving the pit results in disqualification during the match.
