When you do, you transform into an owlbear. The transformation lasts for up to 1 hour, or until you drop to 0 hit points or die.
Your scores, including mental ability scores and hit points, are replaced with that of an owlbear. You retain your alignment and personality. As an owlbear, you are limited to the actions an owlbear can perform, and you cannot speak, cast spells, or take any action that requires hands or speech. Your gear melds into the new form but you cannot activiate, use, wield or otherwise benefit from any of your equipment.
When you revert back to your own form you return to the hit points you had before you transformed. If you revert as a result of dropping to 0 HP, any excess damage carries over to your own form. As long as the excess damage does not reduce your normal form to 0 hit points you are not knocked unconscious.
