These Mutant bats are larger than average humans and crave warmth and blood.  They will initially try to surprise their victims and drop down from hiding spots on cave ceilings to subdue victims without a struggle.  They also have a breath weapon which emits a cone of cold to slow down their prey.  Once they wrap their wings around the vicitm they quickly drain blood with vampiric filaments lined within their wings.

Frozen caves and high up in mountain ranges.

Anatomy

Dire Ice Bat Ears - Used in different potions that alter sound. Each ear is worth 25gp.
Dire Ice Bat Wings - Can be crafted into several different magical items. Items that drain health and vitality or items that grant limited flight. Cloaks and jackets usually. Worth about 50 gold per 2 meters of wing.
Dire Ice bat Claws - Strong chitinous claws usually crafted into pitons and other climbing equipment. Worth about 20 gold each.
Dire Ice bat liver - used for different potions of cold resistance. Worth 120 gp each.

Biological Traits

These large bat like creatures are actually mutated humanoids who have evolved in the Icelands to feed on warmth and blood from mammals. They will try to surprise their victims utilizing darkness from caves or overcast nights to descend on prey and wrap them in their leathery wings. The wings are lined with filaments which cut through skin and even leather armor to reach a victims bloodstream. They also have a breath weapon which emits a cone of cold to slow down their prey.
