The major plot points as the party explores Lamborginus and completes their quest.

Meena Quail - A young woman from House Quail who traveled to Lamborginus as part of a diplomatic mission. She is secretly working for the Diligent Corbomites, a criminal organization operating in Stoneport. They are also attempting to collect the artifacts that Agrimor and PACT are looking for. A better question may be how do they always know where those are? There may be a mole inside of PACT. Meena also attends the party in a blue and dark green dress. She has on a simple blue eye mask that she holds up to her face on a piece of painted bamboo.

Mavda Chrysanthemos- An elven woman - [The White Knife - She is a member of The Dark Council!] An attractive woman with black hair with grey streaks down the sides. She is fairly outgoing and asks a lot of questions of others. Tonight she is wearing a dark blue dress with complicated laces and panels on the front. It is incredibly stylish and allows for just a tiny window of cleavage. Her mask is a blue hummingbird beak and face.

Major Arkon Arquebus - A former officer in the army of Lamborginus. When Panthrus Murcielagus took over the city he purged the ranks of the old guard and installed his own officers. Mostly the Aventadors who are loyal to Panthrus. Though the older experienced, politically connected officers were viable leaders they were too dangerous to let them linger in the ranks. Military coups are a dangerous thing... Tonight he wears his grey military uniform without his rank pips. He doesn’t bother with masks.
Some of the old wealthy officers are still in the city though. They like to stir up trouble and remind the rich and the powerful that Panthrus is an outsider and should not have this kind of power.

His current plan is to raise the enormous demon using the Dark Council.] Helleficks is an incredibly outgoing and intelligent party guest. He wears a cobalt blue robe and doublet. He has a blue cape with silver trim as well. His mask is a blue dragon head made of thin blue stones and gems and large blue feathers that stream off of the sides and blow gently back and forth. DC 19 perception check for Cog. He may get an ill feeling off of this gentleman.

A snippet of that conversation - Meena said to the mysterious elven man “I didn’t know those warriors would be part of the convoy! It’s not my fault!” The elven man responds “I understand that but Vaconto didn’t get his prize and that’s bad for all of us. Find out where it went before they all get really angry with us.”
Mew dealt with a mysterious illness that afflicted her just hours before. She met up with the mysterious Tabaxi Rogue she had spared days earlier and they spoke of the new thieves guild in Lamborginus called the Abyssal Knife. After learning of a grand costume party that was taking place that night and also learning that many of the citizens they are seeking would also be there they sought out ways to attend.
Vom Fass has made friends with a local brewmaster named Bier Barron. The Mullfinch Brewery is delivering beer to the party tonight at 7pm. Turns out he may need a couple strong lads to help with the barrels.
Vorleana, the drow ranger has disappeared and left a brief note warning the party not to look for her. She has personal issues to take care of and she works alone.
Cog has been talking with a concierge at the Jalpa inn, a pleasant Half Elven man who provided him with three tickets to the party tonight.
The Jalpa Inn - As you enter the huge common room of the Jalpa you notice it's high ceilings an many polished wood surfaces. A huge bar called Undare's Place is packed with people. Some locals but many folks who are clearly travelers due to their muddy cloaks and tired eyes. Through the large archway leading to the hotel part of the building you see a desk with multiple kiosks for several different concierges. They are currently processing Orko and Meena who refused to get rooms at a more expensive hotel. The Inn itself is one of the largest inns in Penthaheim. It stands almost nine stories tall. The Hexagonal shaped main building has a spiral staircase that runs up the center. Six room per floor ring the stairs that makes 54 available rooms to guests. The long building connected to the city walls has staff quarters several kitchens and supply rooms and pantries.
The owner of the Jalpa is an Elven man named Undare Armour. The current bartender is a Green Elf male named Sham Mallone. He has a blue mohawk and an eyepatch covering his right eye. But his demeanor is outgoing and humorous. There are several servers tonight a dwarves woman named Carka an elven woman named Dian and a large heavy set man named Coach.
Vom Fass as you leave the Mullfinch Brewery with you new plan crystallizing in your mind you hear a familiar voice. An old adventuring buddy starts to walk up to you despite your disguise "Hey Vom Fass! I would know that walk anywhere! How's it going?" Bulisar Burke a Halfling bard from your old adventuring group stands before you. "Old times eh? We had some fun. Say I have a job here in the city that I could use a second pair of hands on. What do you think? One last job for old times sake? " He explains his new venture trying to get into the Abyssal Knife thieves guild. He has hit hard times and just needs some extra coin and a group to join. He explains the job they have given him as part of an initiation. Break into the Temple of Hellenox and steal a golden statue. It is located behind the altar in a small vault. He is sure there is a pretty good sum of gold and silver in there too. You and your friends could take the money and he'll take the statue "I've found a way in using a cavern underneath the city. I'm pretty sure the small tunnel I found leads directly up into the vault. I just need another person about my size to go in with me and pull both levers. I'm planning on doing it first thing in the morning when the wardens will least expect it. What do you say?" If Vom Fass dissembles and doesn't seem interested Burke will mention that there are Kuo Toa somewhere in those tunnels. Didn't Vom Fass always say he was interested in those little guys?
You walk to the Muira district of the city and notice a change in the housing. The houses here get a little taller and more expensive. The materials change to brick and Inora wood instead of the more basic structures of the Urus district. Some of the businesses in this part of town are the giant central bank and an office dedicated to the Assembly of the weave and a magical artificer. After a few blocks you stand in front of the palatial Galedus Manor. A six story tall structure of brick, marble and wood. It is absolutely beautiful and ostentatious and one of the largest buildings you’ve ever encountered. An elven man stands out front and glances at your invitations and after a quick review he waves his hand towards the door and begs you enter. As the group enters, dozens of people in masks mill about holding flutes of champagne and goblets of wine. A few tankards of ale by some of the more gregarious guests. You enter into a large common room at the base of the enormous mansion. A man in a black and white suit greets you as you enter “Ah you must be the guests the master spoke of. Thank you for apprearing everyone will be quite excited to know that you’ve arrived.” He offers to take your cloaks and outer gear if anyone has the need. He then leads you to a large spiral staircase that heads up to the first floor. As you walk towards the stairs, you see a bar in service here on the ground floor and several doors around the common room that lead to other areas. A door marked dining room can be seen to your left and a door on the right that leads to a large kitchen. As you ascend the stairs you are lead into a large ballroom called the Cherry Blossom. Cherry trees are decorating large colorful tapestries and paintings of different trees in bloom can be seen on the walls. Hundreds of people fill the ballroom all in paper or canvas masks most of which are just around their eyes all in different colors. Some in metallic gold or silver, a few of the party goers are in More ornate masks that look like bird heads complete with feathers or dragon masks with fake scales. The south side of the ballroom has a 20 foot opening with a railing around it that shows the floor below. It is also open to the several floors above.

After surviving several dangerous encounters on the road and at the same time protecting a group of diplomats, the group arrived at the city gates. The team delivered the Sarcophagus but was told the orb wouldn’t be available until normal business hours the next day. DM notes - Meena is working with an elven man named Felix Archer. He is an assassin from Stoneport. They are both working for the Diligent Corbomites. They are tasked with obtaining either the orb or the Sarcophagus but so far Adventure team Grimm has foiled them. They may try to kill one of the party if they get the chance. Meena is not up for any of this, she is in way over her head. The Corbomites have a mole in PACT who is feeding them information. Possibly the stuff Aarokocra secretary he may be more than he seems.
If Karnak tracks down Meena and begins to question her he risks getting stabbed with a poisoned dagger from behind. Perception check DC 16. Felix Archer stands behind you with a small thin dagger. If he gets stabbed the poison immediately gives him three points of exhaustion.

As you get up early at the Jalpa, your wounds from the previous night are healed and after communing with the green you feel refreshed and ready to go. You head down to the common room of the huge building and none of your team is around. The current bartender is a Green Elf male named Sham Mallone. He has a blue mohawk and an eyepatch covering his right eye. But his demeanor is outgoing and humorous. He sees you and calls you over “A few of your friends went on an early morning jaunt with a Halfling called Burke, but a woman left a message for you specifically. From a Meena? She looked like a young rich girl. She said for you to meet her alone behind the Carpenter down in the Gallardo.” As you process this information a groggy hung over Blizzard Hops makes his way down to the common room. As you head down to the Gallardo district of the city the early morning sun just starts to peek over the great white walls of the city. You smell the local bakeries finishing their bread and cakes for the morning and business folk begin to appear walking to and fro. As you head through the huge arch under the walls that heads down to the Gallardo district Wardens begin their watch a hundred feet above you. In the Gallardo district the air smells more salty and humid this close to the Blade Driven Sea. In an alley way you see a woman in a dark blue cloak with her hood up motion you to follow her down the alley. What would you like to do? In the cool shadows of the alley Meena pulls her hood down and begins to plead her case “I didn’t think it would get this far, I didn’t know they would attack us on the road!” [Karnak response] “They are a dangerous gang, I met a man named Felix and four months ago in Penthos. We began a ... relationship and he brought such excitement and adventure. We broke into some abandoned houses late at night, stole some small things from the Nuxhalls and smoked some Haze dust. I did it mostly to make my parents angry and escape the drudgery of royal life. They wanted me to be a page in the government, and I wanted to see the world. Felix said I should be an ambassador and we could run away to Lamborginus!” Karnak [and Hops if present]. Make a perception check. DC16. A figure sneaks down the alley and attempts to stab Karnak. Sneak Attack damage if available.If he connects Karnak is injected with [Purple Worm Poison (Injury) This poison must be harvested from a dead or incapacitated purple worm. A creature subjected to this poison must make a DC 19 Constitution saving throw, taking 42 (12d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.]

you make your way to the IPAM building to collect the Orb the sun shines down upon you in a cloudless sky. Cog and Vom Fass you notice once more that two grey robed individuals are walking directly toward you. Two young human men in their early twenties stand before you with the Assembly of the Weave symbol on the front of their robes. “Gentlemen, it’s time for registration. Please follow me.” Blizzard Hops you and Karnak can roll history checks! DC 17 will give you an idea of what the Assembly has in mind.
Known as the Betalus compound, the large castle and attached buildings house the members of the Assembly of the Weave in Lamborginus. Ranking members - Novices - Herman Groff, Tyko Veron, Deperates Ho, Crankle Bluth, Carston Zule, and Unguthon Yannis. Invokers- Callie Intersten, Vok Challeston, Impetus Nuxhall Adepts - [these are the two who keep interacting with Cog and Vom Fass] Alistair Hammend and Vonker Durrilan. High ranking officials present at this time - Arcanist Luralee Pentagrim, Magus Costiture Cove, and Arch Magus Vantus Warsaw.
Remind them that the Assembly of the weave is a legal organization and there should be no killing involved. Registration and training of Magically inclined individuals. The Registration process is as follows. You are handed a scroll with several questions on it, answer to the best of your ability. Cast at least three spells into a large cauldron located in the next room. Everyone wears goggles and you are asked to cast spells into six foot tall cauldron like iron device that sits on the opposite side of the room. The device looks like a huge metal pot sitting on it’s side with the mouth facing towards you. Please proceed to cast at this time. As the players cast the adepts and magus make notes and nod to each other. Psychological evaluation - Those registering are ushered into separate rooms and asked some questions. “What did you feel when you first touched the Weave?” ”What was your first spell cast and what was the result?” ”Have you harmed anyone with your use of magic?” ”What do you contemplate is the future use of your connection to the weave?” Once these steps are all completed the registrants are provided with their evaluation and their next steps with the Assembly.
After completing your tests the weave members usher Cog into a room. Upstairs near the center of the compound. It is a green wall papered room with a fancy Mahogany desk and a comfortable chair sittting across from it. Cog you may do an arcana check. DC 19. A success reveals that the chair has some kind of enchantment on it. [After going through the registration process drop the information that Cog will be “Gentled” or cut off from his patron as that is an abomination in the mind of the Assembly. He will then be sent to the academy to learn the ways of proper wizards. If he is incapable of learning properly he will wash out and be expelled.]. Magus Costiture Cove sits across from you with at the desk and reviews your information. “Master Cog, you are a unique individual. No one in the realm has seen anything quite like you.” Cog answers and Cove continues “But we have rules that have existed for thousands of years and I’m afraid the evidence is irrefutable, you are a Warlock. You will be Gentled and re-trained, the good news is that we are going to do that free of charge and waive your fees to the Academy to learn magic the proper way. This is a good day for you.” Let Cog process that information and then we will move on to Vom Fass.
[For Vom Fass as a sorcerer he will be studied for few months to learn of his connection to the weave and why he is a sorcerer. Then he too will be sent to the academy to study properly.]. In another room in the tower section of the Betalus compound you are ushered into a Carolina blue painted room with a dark ironwood wainscoting. A large wooden desk with a blonde wood finish sits across from you and you are asked to be seated across from it. Arcanist Luralee Pentagrim walks business like into the room studying your report. “Mister Fass, can you explain the origin of your strange abilities?” Vom Fass answers in his usual insane way. “I see, your connection to the Weave is strange but fascinating. It is also unstable and dangerous we are going to study it for a few months before we grant your acceptance into the academy. Is this understood?” Vom Fass may answer. “You will remain here for your own safety and that of others and we will offer you free lodging. Once we judge you capable of attending school we will ask for a down payment of 200 gold.”
[As they both begin to freak out and find a way out introduce the idea of doing this legally and properly with assistance from head office. S’Chall Gudman can be sent forth with some communication from Mew. Head office can contact Mew or vice versa.] Mew as you are waiting for Cog and Vom Fass to register with the Assembly you get a call on your Earpiece. "Lady Mew, This is Head Office. We are aware of your situation and are sending help. You may respond to this message." You recognize the voice as your Regional Director Trusilla Fane. A moment later a short muscular Gnome walks towards you coming from the Gallardo District. He has on Maroon and black Monk clothing, baggy black pants and a tight cloth shirt without sleeves. He has leather arm wraps with small gold arcane writing on them.
"Lady Mew, My name is S'chall Gutman from Head office. I believe some of your team are registering with the Assembly of the weave, is this correct?"
Cog as you attempt to resist the idea of "Gentling" The Magus known as Costiture Cove gets a message. A novice comes up and whispers in his ear. You hear him say "What? Who did you say? Oh this is ridiculous, send him in." A Short figure walks through the door an air of authority about him. A Gnome man with his graying hair sweeping back from his temples much like Wolverine, he is dressed in maroon and black monk attire. He speaks "Master Cog, Not another word. I am from head office and I will correct this. Magus Cove release this individual immediately he is no mere Warlock and he is a member in good standing of the Premier Adventuring Company of Tellenheim. He is not under your authority. judging by the Assemblies own law, section 451 line b and c I believe? The part pertaining to sentient magical beings that are new to our plane of reality." Costiture Cove argues back "Now see here, your company cannot interfere with Assembly business! Tell Agrimor that --" S'chall counter with "Actually by the commerce guild's treaty with the Assembly of the Weave of SF 2943 we absolutely DO have the right to make sure that employees in good stead are exempt from any magical meddling by any magical guild or extradimensional / planar organization." Cove sputters once more but after some thinking and whispering by another wizard his jaw slams shut. He storms out of the room, and a novice comes over with a tepid smile and tells you that you are free to go.
Rising Action
As you all gather together at IPAM you walk up the big wide stairs of the ancient marble building. Giant columns stand around you and it looks like you are walking into a huge museum. A common room floor made of polished granite in reds and oranges and greys stretches out before you and a Halfling man at the desk greets you.

A chubby human man in his fifties and an Aarokocra who looks like a Barn owl walk up to you. The caretaker you met the day before [Roger Forestspike, Firbolg] wheels a lead box out on a cart behind them. His eyes get bright as he approaches you and says “Ah master Cog! How good to see you again, did you and your friends have fun at the party? I was told their was quite a scuffle on one of the upper floors.” Cog may answer. “We were told a bunch of rowdy drunks knocked over several rare pieces of furniture, I left early anyway I’m not much for the dry parties of the Wealthy.” He continues “ Anyway you are here for the Orb of planar travel. I dare say I wish it wasn’t quite as dangerous as it is having a device that allows you to explore the other planes would be quite handy. Unfortunately it is rippling with power and even our best researchers can’t seem to probe it’s depths. Poor Vudrigar...” Bandy Gumpel steps in, “I’m sure you and your party are quite capable of getting this to Agrimor but be careful with it. The slightest contact with arcane power can lead to it creating unpredictable outcomes. We have secured it in this lead lined iron box. It should be quite safe for transport.” The box is a 2 foot cube and a dark grey. Silver rivets line the outer edges and you don’t see a way to open it. How are you traveling back to Tellenor? Would you like to secure a mode of transport? You can rent or buy horses you can rent a horse drawn carriage or you can find a caravan traveling south and travel with them or you can go on foot. To rent a horse and make sure they get to the stable in Tellenor safely is 25 gold each player. To rent a carriage with two horses would be one hundred gold. Traveling by horse or carriage is a six day journey and walking would be closer to 10 to 12 depending on weather and traveling conditions. Or you can walk down to the lake and secure boat passage. Lake Vellen is the large lake south of Lamborginus and also the name of the town and I have a new map for you.

After securing the Orb and deciding on your way out of Lamborginus whether by carriage, horse, or on foot. Two wardens approach you. “Karnak the Druid, You are under arrest for the Murder of Meena Quail!”
Falling Action
On the road encounter one
As you begin your journey south of Lamborginus by your mode of travel is it night or day? A warm summer breeze sweeps over you and either the two moons or the sun shine down on you. After several hours on the road you hear a rustling. Perception check DC15. Something large is coming your way. [Attack of the Tyrannosaurus. It lumbers forward towards your party at an incredible speed.DM notes : The dinosaur was sent by the Corbomites. It has a metal device sticking out of it’s neck sending painful signals into either side giving it vague directional signals. Someone sent this Dinosaur your way.
DM note: As vom Fass casts a non Cantrip spell the Orb reacts. A blast of energy rips through the side of the box and whatever is in front of it in a 10 foot sphere disappears somewhere. Or find a wild magic table that corresponds with these surges when Vom Fass casts.
DM note : As they deal with the dinosaur two rogues attempt to steal the box with the orb in it. If this moment corresponds with the time that Vom Fass casts they may be sent somewhere. There is a new wild magic table in photos that explains the effects when Vom Fass’s wild magic works with the Orb.
During the battle anyone near the box can make a perception check DC 17. On a success you notice two figures in dark leather armor sneaking towards the box.
The thieves are members of the Diligent Corbomites once more sent to steal the artifact. Rogue one is Untilar Arch a human male, the other is Verrisar Vole a female Tiefling with purple skin. They each have an AC of 17 and 35 HP. After the battle is ended Mew will get a call from Head Office. “Lady Mew, please deliver the orb directly to Head Office. your Cartographer will have the destination, you may respond to this message” Mew may respond. Trusilla Fane is on the other end and says “The orb is more unpredictable than we had anticipated we need to get it into containment immediately, Fane out” Keep in mind that the orb and the box sputter with arcane energy from time to time. Without Vom Fass to give it too much power due to his wild magic spells it won’t roll on the surge table. Just his prescence though creates a bit of a light show from time to time. .
On the Road Encounter Two
As you camp after the end of a hard day’s journey You wind up in a lightly forested area with some mountains and hills in the distance. It will either be twilight or dawn depending on when the party was traveling. You prepare camp and a meal do you make a fire or prepare tents? How will camp be set up? [If cog is on sentry duty have him perform a perception check DC 17 ]. On a success he will see a shape in the sky not too far off and getting closer on a fail start with below.From the sky an enormous shape swoops low. The shadow of the wings stretches 60 feet across. As it wheels back around you get a better look at it. You’ve seen Manticores before but never this size. It looks almost 20 feet long with enormous wings and a spiked tail that adds another 20 feet to it’s length. It dives towards the party. Roll initiative. During the battle, a few feet away from Cog an elven man dressed in blue and brown clothes steps forward. He is wearing a bright blue doublet with some brown stripes going down the center and some light blue puffy shoulders. Brown pants and high end boots. He waves cheerfully and greets you “Hallo, don’t mind me I’m just here to observe!” If anyone comes near him to touch him or attack him the objects sail harmlessly through his illusory body. “Well met! I’m not really here though. Just taking in the sights.”
”Ah excellent form! Really felt the wind on that one!” “You sir really wield that weapon expertly, nice thrust!” [He is the Demigod Isringus in his human disguise.]. DC 18 history check by anyone . You may have noticed him at the costume party though it may not have been due to the masks.
During the battle have Karnak or Cog make a perception check DC 19. On a success they can see a figure in what looks to be ragged robes observing the battle from a mile off. He is on a high vantage point on a large rock outcropping. It would take several rounds to get to that area. After the battle the Manticore shrinks back down to normal Manticore size. An investigation check reveals a small metal arcane device with strange runes on it. Also the normal manticore loot of tail spikes , wings, and teeth. The elven illusion of Helleficks Kristallin / Isringus begins to fade out. “Good show everyone! I may see you again soon you are wonderful at what you do, experts! Goodbye!” An investigation of the area where the figure was reveals Gnoll information if the DC 17 roll is met.
