Gael Norvus
Carved from the Iron Mountains themselves by the engineers of Thirsk the fortress was of Seven Fortresses built by Emperor Thori Forgehand in 545 BFET. Known as the Anvil to its creators it was constructed to complement its sister fortress of Gael Taerus, (known as the Hammer) in controlling the Trastamara Plain south of the Prickling Forest and the main route into Eidover and the southern trade routes.
Pivotal in 324 BFET in helping the legendary Thirskian general Orilak stop the advance of the armies of the Kulag Empire on Eidover during the Second War of Light in their attempt to control the western end of the Bay of Light.
Defence of the Anvil
The battle is believed by scholars to be the reason for the destruction of the weave within the borders of the Prickling Forest and its reputation as an area of Wild Magic.
Following the Empire's collapse the fortress was abandoned for roughly two hundred years before being discovered again overgrown in the Prickling Forest. Many of the Fortress' tunnels have since collapsed and many a fool adventurer has tried to conquer its depths on the rumour that the last Emperor stashed away his greatest treasures during the last days of the Empire.
The Fortress was later annnexed during the Kingdom of Tronde's expansion around 300 years ago but was lost again around four years ago to a group of orcs led by a charismatic leader, who took advantage of the Kingdom's weakened rear with its armies fighting further south on the border of the City State of Viken
