Rhanelander
Rhanelanders are descendants from the barbarian tribes that once inhabited the forests north of Beuland. They too were conquered by the empire some hundred years ago. Rhanelanders are skilled swordsmen, and born soldiers. Rather than chaffing under the imperial yoke they throw their support behind the empire, welcoming its clear and balanced laws, and the opportunities it offers. Rhanelanders are noted for their skill with swords, deference to the law, and military discipline. Detractors of Rhanelanders cast them as aggressive, humourless and inflexible.

Art & Architecture
Rhanelanders are not much given to art, and generally admire precision and efficiency over beauty. Theatre is treated as a suspiscious waste of time and mimes are used as target practice.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
As part of the empire Demeter oversees the rituals of childbirth, but it is not unheard of for a local wisewoman to be consulted for more pagan blessings too.

Men are typically expected to demonstrate their value though either hunting or fighting.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Funeral rites are handled by the priests of Morkana. Rhanelanders have traditionally burned their dead but there is now an increasing tendency to bury them instead.
