A world of swords and sorcery. The Empire of Cardenia spreads across the old world, and smaller nations must bend the knee or fall to their legions. The empire brings civilisation and enlightenment, but it sometimes brings them at the point of a sword. From the imperial heartlands to the distant isle of Aldreme in the north, nations have fallen under the imperial banner. Law is brought to lands once thought lawless, trade flourishes, and orcs and their kin are driven into the swamps and mountains.   Yet now, the empire turns its gaze southwards. The Jewelled Kingdoms glitter with untold wealth. Ruled over by deceadent sultans and the crushing heel of a false god, it is only right that the empire comes to liberate these lands! The fifth and seventh legions are recalled from distant Aldremere to fight in the south, and in the peoples hearts, a flame of revolution flickers.   And somewhere in a land of ice and snow, in a place where steel and fire can never enter, something sinister begins to smile...
