Beulander

Beuland was conquered by the empire some 200 years ago, and has functioned as an imperial province since that time. It’s people are not particularly warlike, being in general either peasants or refined aristocrats. They are known for their horsemanship, social graces, and skill with spears and lances. Beulanders are fond of good eating, and particularly good wine. Detractors of Beulanders will cast them as lazy or cowardly.

Buildings are typically made of wood or stone. Older buildings tend to be simpler and more functional in nature, only those since the time of the empire (around 200 years ago) are more elabourate and decorative. Temples in particular display high levels of artistry. Beulander art typically takes the form of elabourate tapestries, often depicting great historical events or important personages. The modern art form of painting is also gaining popularity here. The lower classes enjoy song, theatre, and silent mimes, who are detested in all other nations.
