Alrescha Sea

Geography

The Alrescha Sea lies in-between City of Anunitum and City of Simmah. It's 1,060 KM long and 620 KM at it's widest. The sea is somewhat circular at it's center, but has two channels on either side leading out into the ocean that surrounds Simmah and Anunitum's northern continent.

Ecosystem

The sea holds an abundance of life, some which come in from the ocean and some that is local. There is an extinct volcano very close to the sea on the Anuitum side. Though is no longer at risk for eruption, the are still some steam vents in the area. They create a unique environment in which some creatures have evolved to survive in.

Fauna & Flora

The most notable creatures in the Sea are those that live around the steam vents along side the cliffs in the southern part of the sea. There are long worms that dig part of their anatomy into the sea floor and feed on microscopic organisms. There are also giant snails that are armored against the heat and have very few predators. There are other crustaceans that have also adapted and a few fish have also found a way to adapt.
Outside of the steam vents the ecology looks like the rest of the seas and oceans surrounding Talitha. The channels that run between the two continents are wide enough to allow a fair amount of mixing of species and keep the water fresh.

History

The sea is theorized to have been made by a massive meter impact millions of years before the Talithans found the planet. Anunitum and Simmah were likely a single land mass that was broken up by either the meteor or earthquakes triggered by the impact. There is a fault line that runs under the Alreshca Sea. The fault line is much closer to Anunitum than Simmah.
