The Tiorathan Hierarchy

Overview

The Tiorathan Hierarchy is the government that rules the Tiorathan isles, and it's vassal state, Nor'Tirath. The Hierarchy officially began at the opening of the first age of the Grand Tiorath Calender, indeed it was the official unification of the Tiorathan isles under the Hierarchy and it's founder Thennon Tiorath that birthed the calendar. From the nations birth to the first age it grew to swallow the entirety of western Tor'Saarn, only being stopped from conquering the entirety of the world by the rival Felsaedan empire, a force that slowly cracked under the strength of the Tiorathan assault.   Indeed Felsaed's defenses were likely only a decade or so away from crumbling by the end of Tiorath's assault. were it not for the Titan-Minds successful incursion onto the outer ring of Talirim and the subsequent event known as The Sundering of Tiorath during which the Titans tore through the Tiorathan isles, Tiorath would have broken through to the east. However Tiorath's fall would lead to the collapse of both empires and the birth of the second age.   However Tiorath's collapse was not so sudden. Even in their weakened state they held the western nations in an iron grip. Unsuccessful rebellion after unsuccessful rebellion tried to pry the western super state of Sethir out of Tiorath's grasp. However it was not until three new gods emerged that the Sethiri conflicts began in earnest. The war was long and brutal, lasting over 60 years until the new gods finally grew in to the immensely powerful figures they are now.   The three new gods would lay claim to one of four territories carved from the super state. The god Kilric would lay claim to Hyeros, the god Endros would lay claim to Seofare and Olrad would lay claim to Oron'Hye. The fourth territory, Nor'Tirath, would remain under Tiorathan control as it had remained loyal. These terms were written within a treaty known as The Gateway Pact. However Tiorath never fully abandoned it's imperial ambitions, and throughout the second age it would attempt to destabilize it's former vassals and regain it's lost technological prowess in the hopes of beginning it's conquest of the known world anew.   The Hierarchy is not well liked in the contemporary world, and it's soldiers are both despised for the cruelty of their government and feared for their once unmatched prowess across the world. Even as the second age continues to introduce new powers and threats the damaged pride of Tiorath's people slowly heals and the greatest of it's minds attempt to recreate the lands great marvels. Many believe it's takeover inevitable unless the gods successfully destroy the Titans and finally step in with their fullest abilities that Tiorath's takeover is inevitable.   Should the most fearful voices be proven right and the Tiorathan navy once again embark on a campaign to conquer the world Tiorath's legacy of conquest, Destruction, Genocide, Slavery, Rape and Murder may continue until the currently free people of Tor'Saarn exist only at the pleasure of their Tiorathan masters. For those who fully follow the original teachings of the Hierarchy this is the ideal world, one in which all beings exist to serve the one united empire built in the name of their idol, Thennon Tiorath.

Geography

The Hierarchy's government is seated on the Tiorathan isles, a small collection of isles located nearest to the western hemisphere and sitting almost flush with the climatorial equator. It is governed solely by the Tiorathan Hierarchy, a monarchy led by the High lord of the Hierarchy. Despite the small size of the nation (approximately 7,000 square kilometres, only about 2,700 of which consists of habitable landmasses) it is perhaps the most superpower force in Tor'Saarn's history and continues to have a colossal impact on the wider world.   The South most islands are dominated by mountains, with the lower islands fading to plateaus and then warm plains. The mountains that are situated closest to the equator are covered in tropical jungles, rivers run from the high points of the plateaued middle islands running over the edge in great waterfalls onto the low planes. The last Island, Tiorath major, consists of warm plains and small woodlands.   The Hierarchy also controls the Sethiri state of Nor'Tirath. Here a considerable portion of it's subjects live as the state is much larger than the isles. The land is farther from the Western Hemisphere and as such the seasons are more mild (Though still far fiercer than the seasons of the east, which sits nearer the seasonal equator), but it does sit near the climatorial equator and as such the northern side is typically quite warm.

History

CREATION

The Tiorath Isles were the last of the Realms to be created, forged by Sar'aan to house the small population of now mortal Astrals, who sire the first humans. The isles of Tiorath take their name from the Tiorath family, the ruling family of the isles. The Tiorath dynasty claims to trace it's origins back millennia to the origins of the isle, it's ancestors among the first of the Astrals to inhabit the island. There does seem to be some truth to this, as Thennon was likely a Weisiar, one of the ruling families of the old kingdoms that ruled the islands before the Hierarchal dictate officially unified them.

EARLY HISTORY

Tiorath history begins with the decree of the new calendar, decreed by Thennon Tiorath to mark the beginning of Tiorath's conquests of the far-off lands that make up the Realms. Much like the Ancestral Tiorathan language (the precursor to trader's tongue) the Tiorath grand calendar would spread to the majority of the world due to the forming empires conquest. This age of expansion lasted from 01/01/01 until 76/04/478/01, leading to the age of the Tiorath ascendancy. This period of Tiorath dominance, in which almost three quarters of the known land belonged to the Heirarchy, lasted until 44/03/1023/01, bringing an end to the first age.

LATER HISTORY

The second age began at 44/03/00/02 with the incursion of the Titan minds on the Tiorath isles and the sundering of Tiorath, beginning the empires slow decline.
