The Action Chart

When dice are rolled, this chart gets consulted first. The Action Value (the doer's power or skill or whatever) is listed in the rows, and the Opposing Value (the target's attempt to not have that happen) is listed in the columns. The total of the 2d10 is compared to the numbers on this chart. If the result falls on the numbers in bold, count up the number of 'bold columns' over 11 until you reach the range that matches the total rolled. These are called column shifts and are applied as bonuses when looking up the result on the Result Chart.

It's important to get a result on this table of at least 11.
