Caelum Trees

The Inannan Caelum Tree is the tallest species of tree in An-Shar, growing to over a kilometer in height and up to 400 meters in width. The Caelum grows in the lowland regions of Cyrtonyx and he adjacent islands. Their great size allows them to withstand the world's nightly floods. They are needle-leafed trees, able to retain moisture during the long, dry days. Their tremendous girth comes from the trees' propensity for hollowing out as they grow. By the time they are fully grown, they consist of a wooden shell some 100 meters thick surrounding a cavernous, empty core. Due to their monopodial morphology, they are less suited to supporting cities in their branches than the Relamptare Trees of Pengana. The dark elves have long constructed vertical cities inside Caelum Trees.
