Dark Elf

The dark elves are a subspecies of elves from the forests of southern Cyrtonyx. Unlike standard elves, dark elves have gray skin and white hair. While most elves have a strong connection to Faerie, dark elves instead have a connection to the Abyss. Due to this connection, they can see in complete darkness; however they cannot distinguish between colors, seeing the world as shades of black, white, and gray. Their vision is weak in areas of bright illumination. Dark elves can reproduce with standard elves; however these offspring are sterile. These half elves are born with their non-dark elven parent's skin tone. Their hair, however, remains white like that of the other dark elves. These mixed offspring have no connection to the Abyss giving them standard elven vision. They also have no connection to Faerie. Perhaps as a result, many half-elves feel a sense of being incomplete.
Most dark elves are part of the Eretis Dominion, however some have emigrated (predominately to the High Elven League of Pengana or off world).
