Texas Star

When the city of New Houston was founded, the construction was centered around magic. The city is filled with sleek buildings that appear to defy the laws of physics, unusual shapes, colors, and textures abound. It is an architectural wonder. As a capstone to the construction, the Magic Counsel wanted to build something that would be an iconic representation of Texas.   For those of you unfamiliar with the United States, Texas is one of the largest of the states and has a rich history of defying both its parent country, and its fellow states. While Texans may not always agree on how to do things, they will come together quickly if challenged from the outside. They consider themselves to be very independent and larger than life. As they like to say, 'everything is bigger in Texas.'   Needless to say the debate over what would be iconically Texas raged for nearly a decade. They considered the famous Alamo [reconstructed on a grander scale], some sort of star to represent the Texas star on the flag, cowboys, horses, bison, cactus, and more. Eventually, the symbol of the star was settled on, but how would that be displayed? It wouldn't be enough for it to just be on the tallest building, or a building in and of itself [maybe as the home of the Texas legislature so that could be moved out of Austin where all those weirdos are]. This demanded more thought, more creativity. They needed to think bigger!   The decision was made that the Texas star would float majestically above the city. It would be a three dimensional model that would not touch the ground but would instead turn as it circled the city. For special holidays it would move to the center of the city and could have cantrips for light shows which could be triggered. The star would shift from silver, to blue, to red and back over the course of an hour. Being magical this would not be a danger to planes or other flying devices or creatures, and it would be big enough to be seen from anywhere in the city.
