Magic Mirror

Before magic came back into the world Science Fiction gave those creating new technologies inspiration. Whether it was a TV show, a book, a movie, or a game, things that were not possible became real because someone was passionate enough to create it. Cell phones/pocket computers were one such creation, tablets, VR, and even microwaves are all good examples.   When magic returned, we found new ways to communicate across the planet quickly. For better or for worse, fantasy inspired the magical creators and we have magic mirrors. Magic mirrors allow for instant communication across distances [just like cell phones really but a little cooler]. Magic mirrors come in a variety of sizes. Most company boardrooms have large ones for conference calls, which individuals may have compacts for easy transport. They can come in just about any size. you might be interested in and they are powered by mana stones, or your own magic if you have it.   The biggest difference between magic mirrors and cell phones is that there is no identifying number. In order to contact someone you need to either visualize them [for a person to person call] or be able to describe them [like a business you would like to contact. Names are also a great way to make a call, however, it needs to be uniquely identifiable as there are many people with similar names in the world.   Obviously magic mirror are a work in progress and are still under development, but many find them appealing and carry one in addition to their pocket computer.   Manufacturers are racing to build new magi-tech devices with the best features of both. They hope to have something ready in the next two years. The prototypes are showing tremendous progress with 3D renderings of the person on the other end of the call, the ability to use avatars instead of appearing in person, and more.
