Changeling
When a faerie wishes to possess a kin child on the Material Plane for whatever reason, they will often create a creature known as a changeling who looks just like the kidnapped child with which to swap places.
Adult changelings can change their appearance to immitate others, but their "natural" appearance varies wildly from changeling-to-changeling; the only common factor is that it is usually unearthly and unerving to others in some way. Changelings also differ in when they discover these powers and realize what they are, though it is most common for this to come out during adolescence, well over a decade after the initial kidnapping took place.
