Basic Information

Biological Traits

Humans are like the people we see every day, various, diverse, tall, short, fat, skinny, pale, dark, all human all wonderful. Halflings tend to be short and rather pudgy, resembling whichever humans they settle with as they were originally just good men touched by the magic of the faewild.

Genetics and Reproduction

Humans reproduce in the fashion in which humans reproduce. The fetal development of a child takes 9 months before birth. Halflings have the same period of reproduction.

Growth Rate & Stages

Unlike most long lived races, Halflings do not reach maturity at the same rate as humans and simply age slower after that period, rather aging consistently at their slow rate, coming of adult age at 33 easily living to 120 or 130 years old, twice as slow as humans.

Ecology and Habitats

Towns and cities.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Both Halflings and Humans eat what would be considered a normal human diet. Halflings generally eat frequent, slightly smaller meals whereas humans tend to eat two or three larger meals a day.

Additional Information

Social Structure

For humans social structure varies by culture. Halflings generally adopt the outward appearances and practices as the culture they settle in, but usually, Halflings live in extremely close family groups, headed by a single patriarch that all congregate in a single area, forming a mini-society inside human society which provides good and services not available in greater human society.

History

Humans rose up on this earth to inherit it in this latter age, but the Elves and the Dwarves both sought to control them and their creative genius. When this failed and the population of humans began to spread beyond what the Dwarves or Elves could command, the Treaty of Ancients was signed, allowing humans their own land in between the Elves and Dwarves. After the land of the Inner Realms was granted to them, the humans began their own settlements and civilizations, slowly, building out into 6 distinct nations around the Inner Realms.   Halflings began as a magical cross between the good fae of the world and humans. This bloodline has carried on through the ages parallel to humankind. Halflings have always been a part of civilization yet, also their own civilization. Halflings love games and trickery, but usually only of a good-natured sort. They are allies with humans and join in human culture, but consider themselves separate from it. They very often are associated with food and agriculture, usually being a part of human society when dealing with supply and demand of food resources.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

While dealing changes by culture, humans are usually closer to Dwarves and Halflings usually closer to Elves, as a result Halflings often have a mistrust of Lycans and Dwarves, yet because of proximity often deal with Dwarves for business.
