Wosabenqe

Because the law forbids anyone to enter the land of Yimihachika on account of ancient superstitions accruing to the legend of Khajuro, dark Master of The Exiled Tradition, "no one" lives here as seen from a technical point of view, though the truth is there are indeed squatters here. The local population living outside of the province in Sekh Anoob call them "Wosabenqe", which in the Ket language roughly translates to "those who scurry" - an apt descriptor given their characteristic skittishness. For obvious reasons, there is no sense as to their true numbers, or even if some greater civilization may even have flourished within the interior.   What is known of them is limited to what is reasonable to suppose:   The Wosabenqe likely do not constitute a homogenous cultural group as the singular term for them implies, and based on informal observations seem to band together strictly for survival's sake. Their settlements are mostly small camps and they have failed to build beyond this, preferring domeciles which can be quickly broken down if the need for flight arises, which it does rather often around the periphery, whenever mounted forces come around to police the borders. Yimihachika itself is highly arid, and nothing is thought to be able to grow there, so at the very least, the Wosabenqe must be very resourceful to have eked out an existence in its craggy canyons for so long, though they do carry out periodic raids on the borders of other provinces for staples they cannot find elsewhere. It might also be inferred that collectively they are a practical people as they do not exhibit the common fear of the land they live on, so widespread in other areas.
