The Hazatien Calendar

The Hazatien Calendar is based on an early lunar system developed by the Drakoyan people, long before they founded the Empire. As semi-nomadic traders they then wandered the countryside in hopes of hawking wares, but the roads were full of danger. They turned to the stars for practical guidance on where to go, which meant what direction Fate was heading in rather than "east" or "west": they knew the territory like the back of their hand, so the positions of celestial bodies weren't of note in and of themselves.   dodge the dangers of the road, and that of a spiritual kind to steer the soul. It is still employed in the latter way, if greatly formalized as a heavenly map for religious observance.   by the Tellers of the Congregation of the Ascended     .   The Hazatien refers to a year as a Revolution, a term borrowed from the poetry of wandering life and its central image, the caravan. As the wheel turns, so does life pass through different phases: Spring, representing birth and fertility; Summer, the pilgrimage and search for oneself; Autumn, where one settles down and begins a family; and bleak Winter, when Death comes and the soul endures its final reckoning.   The major Aspects, celestial archetypes of the faith, are mapped to each month. Each is said to impart its traits to the one born under that sign. The variety of minor Aspects provides a spectrum of variation within a dominant sign, nuancing the read of one's personality, and, as it is considered indistinguishable from the former, one's fate.   The Days of the Week are as follows: Apparan | Isiz |Egro | Maimu | Sheausa | Gransfulga | Facartal
