Geographically, Gilmere is a tapestry of rugged grandeur. Towering mountains, draped in glistening snow, reach towards the heavens, their peaks lost amidst the swirling clouds. Vast stretches of frozen tundra extend as far as the eye can see, their icy plains reflecting the pale light of the sun. Frozen lakes and winding rivers, captured in the icy grip of winter, form intricate mazes that carve through the land.
Within this frigid wilderness lies the heartbeat of Gilmere—the bustling settlement of Audurheigh. As the key stronghold of the Mieroy, Audurheigh serves as the vibrant center of community and resilience, as well as the continent's principal bulwark against the Gorog - one of the planet's few non-human species, a hulking breed whose occasional threat has necessitated this unforgiving outpost on the cusp of The Gorog, the vast expanse where such beasts live.
Those places people cluster elsewhere in the region are less settlements than work camps, though you will always find great hospitality there as per the unyieldingly warm spirit of these frosty folk. The only other place of note is therefore Carock, which is a little charming. Known for its bustling marketplaces, it is here that you can immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Mieroy culture, indulging in such traditional delicacies as Frostberry Tarts and Winter Spice Ale.
There is also, amidst the frozen lakes, a hidden gem: the Glowstone Caverns, an underground network of shimmering ice caves, beckons adventurers to venture into its mysterious depths. The glowstone formations emit a soft, ethereal light, casting an enchanting glow on the frozen stalactites and stalagmites.
