Anoobi

Collective term for those living in the land of Sekh Anoob. The Anoobi have lived together for a very long time in a melting pot situation and despite their disparate cultural origins see themselves as bound together by the land. Individually the names of ethnic groups tend to be the same as the language they speak; for instance: the Ket, Kyzzig, Hishak, Najwat, and Farhsat peoples.
The newly conquering Nazhbehtaq Dynasty speak Alawaq and identify their heritage as Alaqi, spurning the Anoobi mantle. There are additionally the Dok, an entirely different species humans call "elves" who arrived from the Gnositan province of Bluepool to negotiate the Dune Pact in UT 17, who neither view themselves as belonging to the land, although the longer they stay there, the more integrated they are with the local culture.
