Reshari Skiffs

Created by the catlike Reshari, the Skiffs (or "Sandships", as they're sometimes known) are one of the more impressive vehicles used by the Reshari when travelling through northern and central Vraelia. Resembling large catamarans, the Skiffs were designed to allow the Reshari to travel across the sandy dunes of the Khassis Desert with greater speed and ease than travelling on foot, allowing the Reshari to trade with the regions of Zemar and Setsymar in and around this vast desert with greater ease and frequency. While the Reshari also make use of other methods of transportation, including various animals, their Skiffs remain one of the most effective means of transportation for their people, with many caravans using them to ferry goods and passengers, and some clans have even taken to permanently living in and around them.

Propulsion

Reshari Skiffs use their large central sail and the wind (either natural or generated by their mages) for propulsion.

Weapons & Armament

While the Skiffs themselves aren't armed, their crew often include caravan guards (mainly of Rau'gir descent), and their mages are just as capable of defending their vessel in a fight.

Communication Tools & Systems

Reshari Skiffs make use of signal lights to communicate at a distance, using sunlight reflected off of mirrors during the day, and magical light created by mages at night.

Complement / Crew

Each Skiff is crewed by a navigator (equivalent to captain), a small contingent of caravan guards (usually around 20-30), and at least one mage (whose magics are used to aid in propulsion, navigation, signalling, and defence).).
