Drayeth (Drah-YETH)

The Drayeth are the largest cultural group among the Drakai, forming the vast maority of Dranyas population, and being the group most often refered to when one speaks of the Drakai as a whole. Originally descending from the various warrior clans of Dranyas early history, the Drayeth would eventually rise to dominate their homeland, with their traditions eventualy evolving to form the backbone of much of the Drakai culture, including their discipline and adherence to a code of honour. Unsurprisingly, their role in the establishment of Drakai culture has made the Drayeth highly influential, with much of their citizenry, military, and nobility being of Drayethi descent.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

Perhaps the most recognisable aspect of their culture, the Drayethi hold a deep reverence for the Dragons. According to their mythology, the first of the Drakai race were hatched from specially enchanted Dragon eggs, making the Drakai direct descendants of the ancient Dragons. Because of this connection, the Drayethi treat Dragons, as well as their Dragonkin descendants to a lesser extent, with great respect, refusing to allow any harm to come to them except for in extreme circumstances, and highly value any artifacts/knowledge/etc. associatted with them.

This also ties into the second most well-known cultural trait of the Drayethi, that being their focus on discipline. As descendants of one of the oldest and most powerful to have ever lived in Taeva, the Drayethi hold themselves to a very high standard in terms of their conduct, believing that ones actions reflect back not only on oneself, but also on ones ancestors, both Drakai and Dragon. This is the basis of the honour code practiced by both the military and common citizenry alike, as well as their drive to excel at whatever endeavors they set themselves to.
