History
The Gentleness Nightmare
As the
Witch Covens sought power, they found a creative solution in the
Werewolves that stalked the forests. They captured many of the beastfolk and imbued them with pleasent dreams wrapped in nightmarish madness, crafted with magic from the
Dreaming Moon. Through manipulating these dreams, the witches gained an army of mindless attack dogs that they called
Witchwolves.
The Momentous Unmaddening
When the
Three Moments ascended into the guardians and caretakers of the
Dreaming Moon, they blocked all attempts to take dreams from them for purposes of creating more witchwolves. For the dreams out of their hands, such as those that power the madness of the feral werewolves, they leave it up to their newly appointed agents, the
Sleepless, to decide whether or not to leave the werewolves alive as they themselves do not care as long as they get their dreams dislodged from their wild wolf minds. They were free, and most joined the
Freewild.
