The Dwarven Mountains

Throughout the known, and the unknown, world of Taeingarnor, there are the Dwarven Mountains.   Independent dwarven city-states with their own government, royalty, economy, laws and rules of citizenship within singular mountains throughout Taeingarnor, and in the times before humanity passed through into Sor Rusk, these mountains and their people ruled the land and the underground.   Enormous underground reservoirs of water and a fantastic grade of soil combined with unique, edible plant life and naturally growing light crystals make the dwarven homes the most difficult bastions of might to siege.   Article Content

History

Centuries after humanity migrated south from the Frozen North, many wars between the dwarves and the humans took place which saw humanity claim all land outside the mountains. The dwarves, seeing no other way, locked themselves behind their doors that not even the most advanced armaments of the allied human nations were able to destroy.   During the Empire's early years, they employed the dwarves to construct the new walls of the newly imperial cities, and most importantly, the gates. Dwarves are also often contracted to create the mechanized devices, tools and contraptions for the temples of the gods, as their knowledge of such things has been great even before the dwarves first laid eyes on humans. Likewise, Wizards famously has done the same for the security of their Towers and Sanctums.
