A former city in Clarain and a tourist spot known as the Carved City.
Thousands of years ago, in the early centuries of Clarain's history, a wicked and greedy archmage in the city tried to control unfiltered pure, and as a result, it caused an Arcane Disaster. This one, in particular, turned the city, everything in it and the surrounding miles, biological or not, into stone.
The Alsmage, when he heard of the tragedy, went there and proclaimed that he would do nothing, to teach all mortals a lesson on the dangers of magic and arrogance and to prove, again, that he was not a babysitter nor an absolute safety net. “Let it stand as a testimony to the dangers of uncontrolled magic, and the cost of delusions.” Afterward, he left and has said no more on the subject, except to give accurate accounts for historical documentation based on his investigation of the event.
