Caras Chaln is one of the

As the first publicly known ascended vampire of all time, Caras Chaln, a commoner of
Halshafen in the Age of Humanity, boasts one of the most extravagant and boisterous reputations of the
Dark Reign.
An endless showman and organizer of parties, Chaln was born a man and a warrior whose slaughters and massacres of enemy soldiers reach such legendary extremes that he became consumed by bloodthirst and evolved into a stronger form, the form of a vampire. While vampires already existed with a complicated history, Chaln was turned with no sire and was the childe of none of his new race. The first of the pureblood vampires.

Caras Chaln is the subject of numerous tales and horror stories, but once upon a time a man of great power and even greater achievements, morally reprehensible as they might have been.

He was the creator, the origin, of the art of Blood Magic, academically designated as sanguimancy.

He managed to seize a position amongst the evil gods of

Dark Reign bad boy. How he managed to do this is unknown, but lasting rumors tell of terrifying amounts of mortal sacrifices.
The Dark Ralus Blood Agreement
Long ago, Caras Chaln made a deal with the
Ralus Faith Pantheon that went roughly like this; The souls of
Ralus-serving mortals leave their body upon death, including deaths that lead to Vampirism, to go to the Heavens of the divine of their worship. But for Vampires, this means that their souls are essentially on hold in that heaven waiting for their mind to join them, as the Blood Curse of Vampirism keeps the mind in the body after death.
The deal is that any vampire that leads the violent, merciless and bloodthirsty life of popularized lore will have the soul that would be waiting for them if they had led a good undead life given to this Chaln. The
Ralus Faith agreed to the deal because it’s a good way of simultaneously punishing the wicked ways of the murderous
vampires and keep any and all souls out of the snatching and disastrous hands of the fiends.

Through a deal unknown to the rest of the world, Chaln was responsible for sponsoring
Severus Truthlight into a demigod within the
Dark Reign, which also was the extent of his involvement with the new dynasty ruling the
Empire.
