The Triumverate War
The War that brought on the Third Age and the tumultuous world of today, The Triumverate War spanned the globe, with almost every nation being involved in some way, as the Orcs allied with the mysterious Drow, and the new invaders of the world, the demonic Dreadlords. The Triumverate was ultimately defeated, with different repercussions for the various forces involved. It has also brought about the birth of the Intransican Emperor.
The Conflict
Outcome
Stoneheart, the oldest nation of the world and westernmost home of Orcs, was not prepared to fight the war, but felt honor bound to do so along their fellow Orcs. As a result, undertrained, underequipped, and facing superior forces of the D'arcan wizards, the Purshand Empire, among other greater threats, the Queen's Realm lost significant territory and population.
The Drow forces, with one notable exception, were repelled down to their homes underneath the world's surface. Although shamed and embarassed on the world stage, they see opportunities for success in the much longer game. The world has grown to be a far more chaotic and violent place, even after a supposed peace had fallen over the world. Nations over the world were damaged or destroyed, where the forces of the surface world never stepped foot into Drow cities. As they see it, their error was in scale, not in the attempt. All they need to do is bide their time and find a more selective target, and they'll be able to topple the rulers of the surface world, exact their revenge and claim their rightful place.
Even better at playing the long game were the demons and Dread Lords. Although their global invasion would be defeated, the war never ended for them. The war will never end: in their eyes, this is The Final War of T'sara. They now had a foothold in the world. A once proud, metropolitan nation was now a desolate wasteland ruled by the demonic invaders, simply known on all maps now as World's End. A stalemate has been held as the Holy State of Vahn and the clerics and paladins of the world constantly rally to keep the ultimate evil from gaining any further territory. They have succeeded at this, but this only. Any attempts to recapture land have been a failure.

Aftermath
The continued fight against the Dreadlords has created a stalemate, one that might be intentional. Resources of iron, steel, and committed souls are being constantly spent at a border, with no land being gained. While the demonic horde can permit the high cost, the mortals of T'sara have their limitations. Eventually, they will lose their capacity to fight back, and the Dreadlords will not fail again.
Historical Significance
Legacy
A unique legacy of this war from all others is that it is the only one that has brought about a new form of sentient life to the world. The demonic dreadlords cared nothing for the lives and wellbeing of their enemies, even less than their counterparts. This unfortunately lead to rape on a mass level, the world over. This created an unexpected consequence in the birth of the Tiefling. Interacial pairings had never before created offspring, so that these children could be conceived and carry the demonic trait of their fathers was baffling, and deeply troubling. These new half-breeds were a diverse lot, carrying traits of their mothers race, at times creating very different appearances, most notably among The Betrayed, the children of the Drow. It wasn't until Phoenicia, the Goddess of Children and Mercy spoke out that they were all her children that the fate of Tieflings were considered safe, and even than, there was no sure guarantee, as there are always those willing to defy the will of a god.
The most sizable legacy of the war is the dawn is The Intransican Empire, and it's alleged Immortal Emperor rising to that of a God. Not only has this empire rapidly become the largest nation in the world, but it's explicitly humanist positions and ideologies has stood a marked distance from it's neighbors. The nearby forests of Bronzebark and the deep caverns of Hammerdeep have allowed lands populated almost exclusively by Elves and Dwarves explicitly, but neither nation proclaimed to speak for all of their kind, or that their mission was to care and protect for all of their kin. This has been the position of The Immortal Emperor, who has used this position to not only justify the expansion of Intransica from small state into covering over four and a half million square miles of land, but to continue the war on their own, at great loss to others.
Orcs and their Goblin cousins went from being an enemy on the face of battle, to being labeled a persistent existential threat, even after all others had declared victory and the war over. With how close the Orc's had gotten to achieving total victory over the lands now encompassed by the Empire, it's argued that they could repeat the act if given the opportunity. The only safe course of action, therefore, is for the Orc threat to be eliminated, in total. Genocide, in effect. As a result, the Orc population on the continent of Tillanong has depreciated greatly, resigned to the Tribes of Krag'ash that still fight against the Immortal Emperor for their very survival, and those that have spread to far away lands as refugees. A small but unexpected legacy of the war is that a small contingent of the Drow achieved in failure what their greater force couldn't achieve in success. General Khilgana surrendered her forces to the Elves, rather than fight to the death. Although the act was a shame to their culture, the act would grant them sovereignty of a small island of Hylsa to govern as their own. Even more remarkable, these Drow formed a representative form of government, rather than a tyranny as would be the norm in their homes deep underground. These Drow, referring to themselves as The Absolved, have even formed a new religious faith.
