Metaphysical / Paranormal event
The night of blood is said to be the first sign of the Vampirism curse upon Kaidryn, a fall from grace, and a sign of what true depravity, sin, and decadence can wrought. As it is during this night when Countess, Zura Lakatos fed from her guests drinking of their blood and bathing in the shower of violence and lust that she caused. It is said, from this act that she was cursed with Vampirism by the gods, while others call it a gift from Orcus himself for her delightful offerings to his ruby throne, for with each death she spoke a prayer to the prince of undeath, and with each bloody corpse she fed.
The Vazian countess, Zura Lakatos held on this evening a masquerade ball, wherein those she viewed as weak, treacherous, or worse still those whom she believed to be enemies were all invited as a way to end the claims of her twisted sanguine affairs, to put to rest these rumors and assuage them of the common-folks lies. Though a few refused to attend, many showed to the countesses estate for the festivities that would soon end in their death. It is during this ball that Zura truly showed her depravity; as her guests enjoyed the festivities and the extravagant offerings of, pleasure, entertainment, and food. Their distraction would hide from them the truth as the loyal guards of house Lakatos locked all exits, and prevented any escape. Zura with her prey now caught began to feed and with each victim she felled and swiftly partook of their blood fueled within her an even greater desire, one twisted beyond the already vile rumors now seen to be true by the victims of the event. This act of pure decadence, sin, and hunger awoke within the bloodline of Zura a curse long since forgotten, and her desires grew into this curse. Soon as the night wore on, and the bodies were piling up, with the guests unable to use their magic through the clever designs of Zura, and the trapping of their weapons upon entry, they were like sheeps to the wolves, and Zura was no sheep. From this act, Zura began to manifest the curse of her bloodline, she no longer felt the rush of life in her veins, but instead felt it from others, and the acts that she performed, she grew and though many of the survivors only lived due to her confusion, it is these survivors that were touched by her, but survived that continued to spread this curse, and from there the wider range of vampirism began to spread throughout the planet of Kaidryn.
