  • Ability Score Racial Traits: A rodela increases their Constitution score by 2.
  • Type: Rodela are humanoids with the amphibian subtype.
  • Size: Rodela are medium.
  • Speed: Rodela have a base speed of 30ft.
  • Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Croaki.

Amphibious (2) (Ex)

The rodela can breathe both air and water.

Cold Blooded (x) (Ex)

Rodela are cold-blooded, they cannot be detected by thermal vision; however, they are especially susceptible to the environment around them, they suffer Disadvantage on any Environmental cold or heat effects, and are Vulnerable to damage caused by Environmental cold or heat effects. Resistance to either Cold or Fire, cancels out the Environmental vulnerability of that environment. Natural resistance to one of these environments negates that environment's penalties.

Fast Healing (1) (Su)

You can as a bonus action on your turn, regain 1d12 + your Constitution modifier hit points. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you have completed a short or long rest.

Natural Swimmer (x) (Ex)

A rodela gains a swim speed equal to their walking speed.

Regenerative (2) (Ex)

A rodela is capable of regenerating lost limbs as well as other damaged parts of their body. When taking a short rest a rodela heals an additional point of damage per hit die spent; in addition, when taking a long rest, a rodela can attempt to regenerate a lost limb or appendage. To do so you must expend hit dice as if you were taking a short rest, for every hit dice your limb is healed for your constitution modifier + 1 for d6s, +2 for d8s, +3 for d10s, and +4 for d12s, once you heal a number of hit points in this way equal to 100 - your Constitution score, the limb is restored. Hit Dice spent in this way are spent before the long rest completes, and are not restored during the long rest in which they are used.

Rodela Subraces

Magma

The magma rodela are natives of desert ponds and the crackling heat of volcanic hot springs. Their skin is dryer and often of a dark grey, or bright sandy color, speckled with flecks of orange or red.
  • Ability Score Increase: A magma rodela increases one ability score of their choice, other than Constitution, by 1.
  • Hot Blood (2) (Ex): Your body is adapted to the hot springs of volcanically active areas. You are accustomed to warm climates, and can exist comfortably in such an environment; in addition, you have resistance to fire damage.
  • Surging Heat (1) (Su): Whenever you would confirm a critical hit attack against a creature, you can enhance the attack with a surge of your own inner fire. Causing the attack to deal an additional die of Fire damage, the size of which is the same as the attack itself.

Marsh

The marsh rodela are born of the great jungles and flooded swamps, living comfortably beneath the shaded canopies of these great trees. Marsh rodela tend to be dark green to mottled brown in color with bright green, blue, and yellow speckles.
  • Ability Score Increase: A marsh rodela increases one ability score of their choice, other than Constitution, by 1.
  • Thick Blood (2) (Ex): The environment you make your home in has brought you into frequent contact with poisons and toxins of various kinds. You have resistance to poison damage.
  • Venomous Bite (1) (Ex): Marsh rodela possesses a mild poison in their saliva that can be delivered through small wounds. You gain a bite melee weapon attack that can use either your Strength or Dexterity modifier and proficiency bonus as the attack modifier. The attack deals 1 piercing damage on a hit, as well as an additional 1d4 poison damage. This saliva can be harvested; you must spend a total of 60 hit dice during concurrent short-rests for one dose of this poison to be harvested successfully. Harvesting this poison requires a successful DC 12 Intelligence or Dexterity (harvest) check, success results in you acquiring a single dose of Basic Poison.
