Manifestation

Time compresses and stutters throughout Synthacrosia. Large amounts of time may pass in what seems like moments, as the space around Synthacrosia compresses and expands, forcing time to behave in strange ways within the tower.

Side effects

Whether by design, or by accident, aging is a process that does not occur within Synthacrosia. Whatever age you are when you die, is the age you will be for the rest of time, until you die your second death .
Sadly, this means those who have died of old age and come to Synthacrosia must live forever with their ancient and brittle bones, and lack of mobility. Those who die as children are forever stuck in a state of development, but never maturing.
Indeed, the lucky ones are the ones who died in the prime of their life.

Further effects from lack of aging

All biological processes related to time, and aging, are thus broken. There is no hunger, and no thirst. People do not eat or drink in Synthacrosia, as they feel no desire to. Should they ingest anything, the physics of swallowing will take place, but no transfer of energy will occur.
As a result, only magical substances will effect you when you eat or drink -- anything non magical will simply pass through you.

Another broken biological system is reproduction. Time does not flow properly, and it blocks any attempts at producing offspring. Technology to observe the process does not exist, but despite numerous attempts, no child has ever been born in Synthacrosia, and no pregnancy has ever occurred.

Localization

Time only exists within the tower of souls, the rest of purgatory exists outside of time.
