Come On Inn
A seedy, bawdy tavern and inn where the performers are often drunker than the patrons. Located down the street from The Pits, this bar attracts rough-and-tumble types from difficult walks of life. Patrons spend their time either drinking or gambling away their earnings, but the sticky tables make card games difficult. The owner, Gorad Three-fists, is a Half-Orc of immense stature. Although he serves as both the barkeep and the bouncer, he allows most criminals to openly scheme so long as he gets a cut of their profits.
The Stage
Opposite to the dark wooden bar, a stage stands three feet off the ground. Possibly the only surface more sticky than the tables, new performers seldom return for encores. An established group of regulars provide most of the evening entertainment to guests. Performing here requires razor-sharp wit, thick skin, or copious amounts of liquid courage as the hecklers are insatiable. No matter what the genre of the performance at the start of the night, it inevitably deteriorates into vulgar comedy.Criminal Activity
Gorad turns a blind eye to most criminal activity, so long as he is offered a cut. The Come On Inn has become a hotbed of activity for the League of Shadows, and many thieves sit in the shadows plotting their next big heist. Gorad does draw the line at murder and will report these activities to the guards. This has drawn the establishment some ire from the most dangerous criminals of Vern, but rumors circulate that Gorad is protected by the League.Rooms
A silver piece can rent one of the ten rooms upstairs. Good luck getting any sleep, though, as the party downstairs continues long into the night. Each room is equipped with a long twin bed and a footlocker. The beds are moderately comfortable, and there are no obvious signs of rats. Gorad refused to skimp on security: all doors, windows, and footlockers have secure locks. Since Manticorp has come to Vern, Gorad has happily rented four of the ten rooms every night. Elrhatir Barbedaxe has established himself as a regular performer with a cult following. Dahlia Summerhaven's exploits at The Pits have turned her into a local celebrity, so Gorad lets her stay for free. Anraed Maethmag doesn't have to pay rent, so long as he gives Gorad a cut of his next job. Ka'tan Iyjoh regularly volunteers to provide extra security when patrons get too rowdy.Alterations
The stage is obviously made of a different wood than the floors and walls of the tavern. When asked about it, Gorad recalls that he built it himself fifteen years ago.
Architecture
The wooden walls of the establishment sit on stone foundations. Clay tiles keep most of the rain from seeping into the rooms, but a few leaks have sprung in the hallways.
History
The building was in a state of disrepair when Gorad purchased it 20 years ago. Since then, Gorad says it was a labor of love to restore it. He purchased the room furniture, restored the original tables, rebuilt the bar, and added a stage.
