Sindra the Custodian of Evil
Our Mistress of Darkest Secrets Sindra (a.k.a. Witch Mother (Athila), Eclipse Squid (Rainbow Archipelago), Sinsani Senin of Secrets (Rokehara), Mother in the Darkness (Kanata), Sinchisa (Tchzinitchya))
Sindra is an elder god, one of the five custodians who is something between a god and an overgod. She is a patient and cunning goddess, calculating and far-seeing in her schemes. She is of the simple belief that evil is an intrinsic part of reality and that if one is ambitious and desires power little should stand in their way. She finds the incorruptible and resolute champions of righteousness boring though it is said that she has a certain respect for the strong willed who resist her tricks. Her favourite objects of interest are spellcasters who seek power delving into ever darker places and the undead who she often treats like her beloved children.
Unlike many evil deities Sindra has no desire to destroy existence nor rule it, infact if she was asked no doubt the goddess would say that both sound terribly boring. While she is evil as it is her very nature and she has little need for more power as a custodian deity. Thus her corruption, her schemes and her desire to lure mortals into wickedness amount to her personal amusement. Sindra has no need for followers but seems to enjoy playing the game of being a goddess whether it be as a mother, lover or vengeful deity. That said she is always eager to encourage the darker ambitions of mortals if not just to watch the results.
While she may be seen as an amused interloper this is part of her nature as is the care and interest she has in the propagation of black magic and undead. Many undead consider her their mother and even the most irreligious of undead are wary to cross her. Countless mages that crave power at any cost turn to her hoping to trade prayer for dark secrets and mastery of vile magics and she often answers watching amusedly as the weak are destroyed and the strong endure her gifts.
Sindra is depicted as a beautiful dark haired woman with a black orb in her left hand and a ram skull topped staff in her right hand. Her attire and physical appearance vary from people to people like most gods, though she is always dark haired, dark eyed and pale by the standards of the race who envision her and always beautiful. The Skull on her staff belonged to a former deamon lord who came close to finding and stealing the souls of her dead faithful so Sindra ripped off his head and placed it’s skull upon the staff allowing the deamon to regenerate with the knowledge that its power was nothing next to her own. Her Orb was once a terrifying alien entity with many names that took the form of a hungry moon that travelled between worlds feeding on them. When it came to Syann she decided she was not fond of an apocalypse so she shrunk the eldritch entity and turned it into a solid sphere of obsidian that she keeps as one of her favourite magical trinkets.

Holy Books & Codes
Holy Books
Most of the holy texts of Sindra are indistinguishable from books regarding arcane lore and research; however for the cunning and knowledgeable there are codes and hidden meanings. These books of secrets are highly valued and treasured but also sometimes allowed to fall into the hands of potential converts as a test of their cunning.
The Book of the Whispering Dead: The most infamous book of lore regarding the study of undead is a must have for any undead hunter or necromancer but hidden among its texts and pictures are rites and rituals of Sindra as well as philosophical and theological trestes that favor the undead not as monsters but beautiful sometimes romantic or even necessary creatures. It is of course outlawed in many good places and to even own a copy can be dangerous even if its knowledge can be invaluable against the threat of the undead.
The Grimoire of Gustav Von Helgenhiem: Written by a famous necromancer, this book is at first glance a rather dull, impartial and scientific study of necromancy as a school of magic. However if one turns the book sideways and reads it as such the glyphs become a torrid and zealous work of praise to Sindra. Gustav not only loved the dark lady but loved to write about her. The book is full of Myths, poems and devotion to Sindra written by a man whose heart burned with passion and desire for his goddess. Some of the works are so lewd and detailed that the book has been known to bring a blush to the faces of some who uncover its secrets. Baron Gustav Von Helgenhiem himself as he is known now is reputed to have been given vampirism as a gift from the goddess herself who was impressed with his passion and ambitions.
Antipaladin Code
Antipaladins of Sindra are lords of undeath, champions of evil magics, thieves and keepers of malign secrets. They take a number of vows in their dark service to the lady as noted below.
1.Secrets are worth more than money and grant great power; never give one away unless you gain two new ones in return.
2.The Undead are our ladies' creations do not destroy them not unless they prove heretical against our dark lady.
3.When you take up the ladies' cause who you were becomes your greatest secret never allow anyone to know your true self.
4.They who would stand in the way of black magic stand in the way of your goddess, suffer them not and work to ruin them by secrets and black magic whenever possible.

Aphorisms
“Curiosity feeds itself” To many of the faithful curiosity is what lured them to Sindra and using it is one of the primary means to find what one desires. New converts are teased with things they desire and those with the ambition to follow them often end up in the ladies embrace.
“What is less than gold but worth far more” Secrets and knowledge, they can topple or build a base of power, make the poor wealthy and the powerful tumble into the gutter. Secrets and knowledge are a treasure and commodity among Sindras faith and the darker and more hidden the better.
Holidays
All of Sindras holy days revolve around stealing or keeping secrets, undeath or magic.
Feast day of the dead: Always falling on the day of the dead this holiday is a somber one for the living faithful. Through the day they will ritually clean themselves and eat healthy food. They also pray and write poems and secrets for the goddess. Once the sunsets however the clergy will either wander dark places in search of or arrange a gathering of undead creatures. Vampires are prefered but other undead are acceptable, the priests then offer themselves or more often ritually prepared sacrifices to satiate the undead. The bravest and most faithful always offer themselves trusting that they have the favor of the goddess. It is said that no matter how vicious or terrible the hunger of the ravenous undead who partake in the feast that if the goddess favors a priest or in some cases even the lowly sacrifices that they will feel no pain and awaken unharmed. Sacrifices who survive either by miracle of the goddess or the undead not being overly hungry are inducted into higher mysteries of the faith. Undead members of the faith rather than offer themselves at the feast often act as the feasters.
The Witching Moon: When the last full moon of autumn comes the faithful of Sindra engage in a sabbath ritual said to be so old that it is lost to antiquity. Many make a pilgrimage away from the cities to the country. Here among open fields, dark woodlands and ancient places her clergy kneel and praise the goddess in her aspect as a deity of magic. Slowly but surely as the clergy chant and sing young men and women all gifted with some degree of latent magical talent will dance and partake in intoxicants under the full moon light. In more modern sects this amounts to a large party where magic users of the faith get to met and know each other. However among the traditionalists and older practitioners the ritual is considered a failure if at least half of the dancers do not engage in lewd and debauched ritual sex acts that may result in the birth of a magically talented child. Many of the clergy even use various tricks to arrange couples in the hopes of giving birth to a Seventh daughter or son of a Seventh Son or daughter. Some more cynical members of the faith consider the ritual nothing more than magical match making.
The Festival of Secrets: Is a strange and hard to understand holiday for many outside the faith. It is always chosen in secret by a cults high priest on the night of the last Festival and then the high priest starts to leave small clues as to the next date over the course of a year. How quickly and cunningly members of the faith discover the next date and location of the festival is used to determine the ranking of under priests. The festival itself is a fairly joyous event with games, food and various events to test the wit and the will of the faithful. Alas though for clergy who can not uncover the festival's date must play the role of the festival dullards and are subject to mockery, mistreatment and grunt work at the festival.
