Beasts born of the Titans

As the dragons declined a new power came to the world that of the Titans and their giant offspring. These creatures would see themselves as the true rulers of the world and had no qualms about reshaping elements of nature. The Giants finding the world often far to tiny were responsible for the creation of many "giant" versions of animals as well as several hybrid animals have that became so successful as to become naturalized species.
