Vayra

Vayra is the Goddess of Mining and Death. She was the last of the siblings to come to earth and gave the dwarves the will to mine the mountains and the gift of going back to stone after death. Her priests give the last rites after death and bless the miners, and don't live in temples but roam the lyrian empire alone, like most of the druids do. Once a decade her clerics and most of the dwarven population gather for the Carnival of death to celebrate the dead. She is believed to be fickle and to loose interest quite quickly. Though she embodies death, she is not thought of as evil, since dying is a normal part of the circle of life. The second day of the lyrian week is named after her.
The dwarves believe that she is a tall, slim woman with shoulder long hair and a beard woven into three snakes. In most tales she protects the bowl of ever burning flames from the forces of evil. After discovering the Monument of the Dead, the druids declared the giant statue to be her, built by her and her siblings themselves to give her disciples a place to pray.
