Royal Garden of Belsa

In the center of the earth below the SkyLand of Istiana is a circular garden filled with a variety of different fungi. The garden is circular and is surrounded by 10 foot (3 meter) high stone walls. It has one large official entrance which is flanked by guards in ceremonial attire. It is here where guests may enter the garden, though they allow only 72 guests to be inside the garden at any one time. Benches line the wall so that people may sit while they wait their turn inside.

Within the garden are manicured paths with signs indicating the different paths. Located within the garden are statues to the gods and goddesses of Suveon's Shapers, each with an attendant, a collection bowl for offerings, and a few benches around the statue for guests. There is also a large central area for gatherings.

The garden is open to the public between dawn and dusk each day. After sunset, the garden is reserved for the royal family and their guests. The priests and priestesses may also enter at any time, but they do so via the three locked entrances located within the wall of the park rather than the main entrance.

History

In the year 372, Queen Gloistren visited the Duchy of Filhony. While in the city of Zara, she spent a very pleasurable time in the garden below the SkyLand. (see Royal Garden of Filhony) The fond memories of that time stayed with her so she decided that the royal city of Istiana should also have such a garden. She hired workers to build walls, commissioned sculptors to make statues, and employed gardeners to tend the fungi.
