Makalouch

Makalouch is the capital city of Orbico. It is the oldest Human city and takes pride in that heritage. The King resides here and important nobles will have homes here in addition to their estates in other towns and cities. Despite not being on the sea coast, the city is a large trade center since the country is able to produce so many different goods from its lands.

Humans make up the majority of the population, but there are many permanent residents of each of the other peoples.

Infrastructure

The heart of the city is located on a large SkyLand with the remainder of the city sprawling out below and around the SkyBridge.

There are three central fountains which are fed by springs within the SkyLand. Water is routed from these fountains to many small pools around the SkyLand. Additionally, water from two of the springs is routed down each side of the SkyBridge, running to one side of the landscaped parkway with small bridges crossing it about every 100 feet (30 m). Halfway between each of the bridges is a pool where water is collected for the area.

Districts

Skyland - This is where the King and other nobles of the city reside. There are also temples, the Academy, government and guild buildings, fine shops, and other homes.

SkyBridge - The SkyBridge leading from both sides of the SkyLand are grand affairs in Makalouch. A 50 foot (15 meter) wide portion of the center of the bridge forms the parkway with a 12 foot (3.7 meter) wide brick-paved road going up the center of that. The remaining 20 feet on each side of the road is landscaped with flowers, shrubs and small trees. Between the parkway and the edges of the bridge are residences, farms, and the occasional shop.

Under SkyLand - This section of the city is where the poorest people reside.

Bridge Ends - The southwest bridge end is near Beaver Run. It has docks for ships, warehouses and vendors. The northeast bridge end leads to the main trade road heading north. It also has warehouses and vendors.

Under Bridge & Surrounds - The underbridge and surrounds contain factories for linen production, shops, homes, small farms and holding pens for animals near the bridge ends.

Geography

The city of Makalouch is located in the Fancy Oaks south of the Dotted Yaklands. It is about 60 miles (100km) up the Beaver Run from the coast of the Gallanwood Waves.
