Greyson Badawi was a third generation Turkish American kid, his mother wanted him to feel more accepted in America than she did when she first came. So she gave him a more americanized name, much to her dismay Greyson slowly developed skintags all over his arms for some reason. The doctors couldn't figure out why, but they did take them off when they got became to numerous. But the cost required to save for a while each time they removed them.
He was often made fun of for this, but he made up for it by being a class clown and constantly wearing long sleeves. He also worked out a lot to give people a different reason to stare at his arms. This did help his confidence immensely, and felt like things were changing for him. While walking into school one day, one of the power lines near his school snapped off just as he raised his hands to greet his friends. All he heard was a loud pop before he loss consciousness. He woke up in the hospital with his arms completely gone all the way down to the shoulder. The next few months recovering were like a blur, all he could think about was getting rid of skintags, and now his entire arms were gone. All the work he put in was wasted, pointless, and that's now how he felt about himself.
He stopped interacting with his friends even when they came to see him, he became a shut in and stopped joking. Before long his parents moved him to a different city for a new start, he was still distant and quiet. Until he woke up with his arms back, and threw them in the air in excitement and popped off, and he screamed. Then he grew again, and he popped them off again. By the time his parents reached the room he had 15 sets off arms sprawled over the ground. Realizing he could have powers, his parents revealed their disdain for supers and took him to hospital and asked that he stay until he was cured.
His parents never came back and this only added to his feelings of inadequacy. He broke out of the hospital and lived on the streets, he tried scrounging for food. But he grew tired and eventually used his powers to get by, learning how to control them on the way. He became a villain mostly out of necessity, but it made him happy to be good at something again.
