Personal history
Showdown is from a planet called Zoor, and Zooran's take their names from traits or ideals. Showdown's name means honor, and it's up to the individual to determine their own meaning in life relative to their name. Showdown chose combat, and he finds no joy more pure that defeating his opponent in honorable and fair combat. Discovering from an early age he had a knack for the violent dance of martial arts, he dedicated his life to it. After becoming unbeatable on his planet, he looked to the stars for more suitable challenges.
He now goes from planet to planet fighting as many as he could. When he came to earth however, he took a break. His first glance at humanity was abysmally dull, and figured he'd find nothing worthy of a challenge on planet. He wandered into a movie theater playing Tombstone, and couldn't help but notice the reactions in the room during the fight scenes, but also the music attached to it. He went around to different theaters and watched more, he that found that he loved the movies himself. Especially ones with large battles or duels, and definitely when there was music. He broke into the home of a dead man whose body hadn't been found yet, and binged watched almost every action movie he could, and then made his way to the music. That's when he saw his first superhero fight, and it ignited his warriors heart, realizing he couldn't leave this planet until he defeated every hero they have.
Now after watching all those films he figured that these occasions where when heroes would be their best selves combat wise, and he uses his powers to make his opponent hear music in every fight. He had been on many planets, fought wars and even tried competitive sports, but found too many cheats in both. But none caught his eye like the heroes of earth. So righteous and fair, restricting themselves to rules others would not even though they had the power to ignore them. He loved it, and in order to draw out the heroes for a real fight he aligned himself with the villains of earth.
