Personal history
Tinsley Keen was a great schoolteacher in an underfunded school district. She studied for years just to reach her dream as a teacher, but she felt as if she could barely do her job properly. She often felt like she let down her students because she knew what kind of resources the other schools had. She grew up in those other schools, and that had a great impact on her and she cherished her school memories. She couldn't stand for her students to be robbed of the same experience.
While she was bringing snacks and supplies on a shockingly cold day, her car broke down on a bridge. She got out to check what was wrong and a strong gust of wind caused her to slip and fall in the water below. She couldn't get out, the freezing water sapping her strength as the cold over took her. The water slowly swallowing her as she drifted down to sleep beneath the ice.
She woke up later still below the frozen water, watching firemen trying to crack the ice to get to her. She banged on the ice to get their attention and her fist went right through, only then did she feel the cold air again. They pulled her hand and her whole body came floating right out of the river like a ghost. Her body slowly turning from nearly see through to normal. She was completely dry, and it baffled everyone. She then almost froze someones hand while shaking it. She showed up to work late that day, then resigned that summer after having a huge party for her kids. She felt like she finally had a way to earn money for her district, and she signed up to be a suit at the first opportunity.
