The Uba People are a civilization dating to over hundreds of years Before Common Age, living in the continent of Novalma. Originally living in the riverlands southeast of the forest, the Uba People were nomads of great renown in Pre-Colonial times. They were notorious travellers, transporters, informers, fishers and carpeenters.

History

15th-16th century

In 1467, when settlers from Tutumayre first arrived on the south coast of Novalma, they had no contact with the Uba since the ubas lived inland. However, the Uba People knew of these settlers, and of the settlers on the north coast of Novalma, as they would acquire information easily from far away with their nomadic traditions.   It took a few decades before the settlers first adventured inland. Coming with gunpowder and steam power that the local civilization did not know how to deal. Records in Kuarassi City report the times their warnings reaching far villages before the settlers, and the times they didn't. The knowledge of how much depended on the Uba resulted in grevious mental issues, as recorded.   Upon learning the fate of the people left behind during the invasion of Novalma, some ubas moved far away into riverless lands and forwent their culture. Others joined the armies of the Kuarassi to fight back, and not few desperated and took their own lifes. Still, most remained on their mission of spreading information about the invaders and strategies, helped with transportation of people and goods.   During the period, ubas were considered important part of the native resistance against tutuamees. For that reason, the colonizers eventually sought to attack them, obstruct and cluster rivers to impeed their movements. By the end of the war, the Uba People had lost an estimated 20% of their numbers in frontal attacks and around 30% from the consequences of the conflict.   As colonizers settled deeper into Novalma, The Kuarassi decreeted a last mission to the Uba people. They were to reach for every allied and native people and evacuate them to the Novalma Soul Forest where they would settle in the land protected by the Kuarassi since ancestral times. From 1578 to the Yokene Revolts in the 19th century, no Uba People would transverse the rivers of Novalma.
