Taianees

Once the people to rule the majority of the Middlelands, the Taianees would influence most cultures that populated the region after the fall of their empire. Considered one of the largest empires to date, the Tairania Empire had an upper and middle class of mostly Taianees.   The Taianees themselves were first registered as a group in the southwestern lands of the Leuxian Empire. At first a small county, after the Lexana Partition following the death of the last Leux Emperor, the region fell into the dominion of King Olomeno whose death would also be end of his kingdom.   Armies made of Taianees and the local autorithy slowly rose the region to a kingdom status and later an empire from the structures of the Leuxian Empire as well as the influences of nearby tribes.

Influences

Taianees, much as the Leuxs, are considered the roots of modern civilization. Both rulers and conquerors, their assimilation of dominated lands resulted in an enriched society that would develop science, arts and warcraft far beyond their peers.

Architecture

Taianee tinkerers and philosophers would develop science too far beyond what other cultures achieved at the time, proof of that was in their architectural plans.   An example is the House of Gods, which housed the statues of over dozens of people, was not just a display of artistical superiority but also architecture as the largest building made for a thousand years. Using materials that have not been recreated since, and special windows and lighting effects that guaranteed illumination for almost a full day, even during the night, with minimal use of artificial lights.

Arts

Taianee art survived as mosaic, statues and literature, as the original creators of the printing press. Unfortunately, much of their less resistant works - such as their earlier written work left and their wooden statues - were destroyed during the fall of Tairania. Their style is seem in Eastern Tairania glassworks and Daylyonese tapestry.   Many of their statues remained, even partially destroyed, and would influence artists in the Cultural Rebirth of the 14th and 15th century. Their work on mason and metals was so detailed that a particular account state that when fighting a large army of Khors in the northern snows, a third of the army was actually comissioned sculptors that would create sculptures to stand guard and scare off ambushers.

Descendant Cultures

Even before the fall of the West Tairania Empire, the culture had slowly been assimilated into Mittlayan. Mittlayan was the culture most related to late West Tairania Empire and its sucessor nations, with more tairanian subcultures most notorious north the Middle Sea and on the far west of the Middlelands.   Another descendant culture were the Eastern Taianees, which would be heavily influenced by the chiefdoms of the Disputed Lands. The Eastern Taianees, contrary to the westerns, would not be the origin of many other subcultures, but an influence in the Daylyon and other cultures.

Taianee and the word Tyrant
Etymological studies indicate that the word TYRANT comes from Taianee. As Tairania means Born of Taianee (Tai from Taianese, 'i/ar' as a connector used for possession or relation, -nia meaning blood origin, such as family or inheritance). Tairant, later spelled tyrant, would mean Leader of Taianees where the sufix -ant means doer or specialist. However, foreigners and non-taianees would associate the adjective to conqueror and supresser, a meaning that carried to modern language.
