Kuarassi City Settlement in Superia | World Anvil

Kuarassi City

The largest city, of the few known, within the territories of Sun-Protected Forest. Its original and main purpose is to serve as a place for peaceful resolutions among the locals, and has expanded as the place where foreigner groups can conferece with leaders of local civilizations and tribes. Kuarassi is also home to the The Kuarassi, a homo sapien superia that acts as leader to the city, protector and representative of the Sun-Protected Forest.   Since the Treaty of Sun and Ember, Kuarassi City is also where the Halo, a group of diplomats sent by each recognized civilization of the Sun-Protected Forest, gathers and advises the Kuarassi on decisions related to foreign affairs.   Given local tradition to restrict foreigner access to documents and other materials, research surrounding Kuarassi City and the Sun-Protected Forest is arduous. Even so, in recent years, policies to open communication has allowed emberlees and other researchers to come in contact with materials transcripted and made available on Kuarassi City's Public Library.

History

The Great Sun shone on the summit and its light called the World that united under its power and orbited its glory
— Legends and Histories of The Forest, Volume 2
By analysing available documents and through extensive interviewing, researchers stimate that Kuarassi City was founded around the 900th year of the Common Age. It appear to have been founded by the Kuarassi of the time, a Super so powerful it bent whole civilizations to their knees before building a city from where they would rule.   The city, however, would not be accessible to foreigners until the 17th century. At the time, it was not yet an open city for foreigners, but where prisioners of the Sun-Protected were taken for trial and eventually, in some cases, released to return to their land. Thanks to the treaty between the then Kuarassi, the President of Emberly and neighboring nations the city was opened to foreigners in 1937.

Through the use of mysterious technology and homo superia powers, the exact location of Kuarassi City has remained unkown. However, the city is still accessible thanks to the Kurukuruba, red-headed individuals often capable of teleportation or similar powers that transport foreigners into the Hall of Visitors within Kuarassi City.
