Tarana Laakso

She's someone who could have been a rather powerful supervillain if she really wanted to apply herself. Fortunately for the rest of you, she's rather lazy and thinks that creating a personal empire sounds like too much work.   She's a member of the most recent class of Academics Club, and goes by the codename Charmer. Her powers are basically the ability to manipulate people. She projects a filed that alters brain chemistry and affects mood, calming people or riling them up. It's not pure mind control, but it's highly effective on the unwary, and she's instinctively figured out a combination of factors that makes people highly suggestible. Hence, Charmer.   It's possible to acclimate to her adjustments. Not in the sense that they don't still happen, but it's easier and easier to see when it's happening. It makes her incredibly useful in one-off situations like bank standoffs and hostage situations. And it would keep a long term team from having as many problems with any overreach on her part.   She usually dyes her hair. Most recently, it's been pink, and before that it was purple, but she's thinking of changing it to a reddish brown.   Of all the current class, she's the one who most readily fits the external reasons for being in the club, with her powers getting her into a lot of trouble. Her teachers started adjusting to the moods that she used to get better grades or get away with bad behavior in class, so she started getting a lot of detention all of a sudden. And of course her parents were also adjusted to it.   Her primary flaw, and best defense, is that she's lazy. She doesn't wield her powers for control or to threaten, she does it to make life as easy as possible for herself. She's not interesting in committing crimes and having to run from the law, but it's difficult to persuade her that it's a good idea to learn how to defend herself and others.
