Gorgo

At some point in the not so distant past, a certain Ruby Gray became obsessed with Greek mythology and recreating certain elements of the species found within that series of tales. Some were more successful than others. One was meant to resemble the gorgons.   It is difficult to term the gorgos as successful, exactly, because they are actually quite annoying. Like, seriously annoying. They are not supposed to be beautiful women, or spectacularly ugly, but instead look rather like cats, apparently. If cats had scales and were green, at least. Their abilities are tempered by the fact that they are not quite at sentient levels of intelligence, and also their ability to turn people to stone is less literal and more figurative.   Essentially, due to a series of pheromones and visual stimuli produced by their scales that becomes focused through their gaze, they stun their prey. Or, to get to the annoying part, they stun literally everyone they can find.   They seem to derive enjoyment from stunning people, in fact. They're kind of like cats in that regard, that they seem to enjoy getting in the way and causing chaos. The little mischiefs are difficult to contain, due to a certain agility, and they will find people and stun them.   The stunning effect itself is not so abrupt as to cause fatalities, most of the time. While it is rapid, the effect overtakes one slowly enough that it is possible to sit down, or otherwise balance oneself so that once one is stuck one will not topple into a ravine or something like that.   In fact, calling it a stun is somewhat inaccurate since it does resemble being turned to stone. You don't lose consciousness, it's simply that your muscles lock up completely and you can't move at all until about ten minutes after the gorgo leaves your sight. If it's naptime, you could be there a while.
