Jalhmođr Crypt

Purpose / Function

The Jalhmođr crypt serves as a final resting place for the lucky dead who are sent there. As horrid creatures seize the dead and being them back anew, those that reach Jalhmođr are cut into pieces, skinned, and laid to rest in pieces so they cannot be brought back. Their names are carved into a great wall carving, which serves as a reminder of all the dead buried in the crypt.

Defenses

Heavy walls surround the far outside of the crypt, with guard stations manned by horn-holders and runners. In the event Røta get to the gate, a runner is sent and a horn is sounded, so the internal rings of defense know what to ready for.   A pit of spikes with a trio of bridges, a bristling moat, circles the longhouses of Clan Ulmaudr. Here, every Clanmember is ready to fight to the death to ensure no Røta reanimator escapes. They are especially well trained in the art of killing these strange flesh creatures, and so they are adept at picking out and slaughtering those which provide morale and reanimation to the rest of the rotting ranks.    Hidden traps above boiling pitch pits are cleverly dug into the landscape in a long funnel, which forces the undead through it. Beyond here, there is no aerial approach.

History

Formed in the aftermath of that first cataclysm. The Ulmaudr clan had been the clan to purge the last Røta from those old tunnels, and so they were the ones given claim of the territory.

Tourism

Tourism is only allowed to those who are Clanmates with the remains settled. A name must be given, and the name will be checked. A match allows an armed escort down into the vast tunnels.
