Halsyona Republic

The HALSYONA REPUBLIC is the second group that rose from the ashes of New Garden.

The Republic began from a group of neo-pagans fleeing persecution and now, ironically, exists as one of the greatest threats to free religious thought in the galaxy. The Republic is led by a triad of leaders, each representing one of the three primary religious thoughts of the Republic's complex faith system.

Due to their paganistic origins, they do not follow God, nor Christ; instead, they believe in three gods known as the Great Souls. While all faith comes from the same source, there are essentially three-- four, if one counts the socially-accepted outsider faith -- "religions" within the Republic.

The Republic practices infiltration and faith absolute, with strike teams being pulled from one branch of the faith in particular. Their pantheism puts them at great odds with just about every other galactic faction. Luckily for the universe, the Republic controls at most ten planetary territories and perhaps as few as seven colony stations, with no known generational ships. Their biggest menace comes from their infiltration ability and the fervent nature of all of the followers; each member of the Republic is prepared to die for the cause.

Structure

Headed by the [INVICTUS], the single individual who carries a staff with the triad true souls emblazoned into it. Beneath the Invictus are the [ARCONS], each Arcon overseeing a distinct aspect of society-- the WAR-LORD for offense and spying and battling, the TEACHER MAXIMUS for education of those born to Halon worlds, the POPULARIS who ensures that both propaganda and entertainment is easily reached by those who seek it, and the REMNATIS, who oversees the elusive scholar-historian wing and is in charge of commands which quietly rewrite history to suit the Halsyona Republic.

Culture

[ zealous ] -> the Halsyona Republic is an organization of zealotry, where each individual truly believes that it is better to be killed for the sake of their cause than be caught alive. Their infiltration units grapple with this zealotry, needing to balance their upbringings with their actual jobs. While the Republic controls few planets on a galactic scale, the ones they do control make up for that by being populated by individuals who -- at least in public -- affirm the Halon belief system.   [ relentless ] -> once the Republic's eye has been turned to a specific objective, there is no waste of resources-- money, bodies, minds-- it's all sent to the objective with fervent desire to finish their job. This becomes horrifying when the Republic initiates a faith-strike team, where up to ten Halons will infiltrate a world for some time until they are able to bring down the target. If they are found out and killed, another team is simply sent in their place. Deaths are mourned, yes, but they are seen as being worth loss for the greater good.

The Great Soul divides; we abide.

Currency
Official currency is the InvMark, a chit made of artificial materials, colored to symbolize how much it is worth. InvMarks are the only accepted currency in the Republic. To get around this, trading with other powers is often done through bartering and the swapping of material goods, so as to avoid being tied up in the red tape of determining what is and is not currency.
