Peregrine Webways
The Peregrine Webways, commonly shortened and simply called the Webways are the system of public transport that connects the entirety of the City State of Styx like a spider's web.
It was first designed and built early in the Era of Steel and Brickwork as a means of transporting both the growing workforce of the city and resources into the various Sektori and Districts.
The Webways are a connected system of rail lines on which horse drawn trams run in regular intervals. The trams stop at set destinations known as rail stations which are spread across the city.
The Webways were intentionally built as a public and free mass transport in order to streamline routes of transit as well as limit pollution and spread of disease arising from the sheer amount of manure of the various other animal-drawn modes of transport that were prevalent in past ages.
A system of horse drawn trams to move larger groups of passengers across the city consistently was essential in cutting down the reliance of the population on individual transport and made parts of the city accessible and therefore appealing to the people leading to an increase in urban growth.
The Peregrine Webways are broadly divided into three so called Partwebs, each of which covers one of the Sektori .
The Northern Subweb, also abbreviated as sW:N services the Sektori of Norrsidra from the western edge of the Wessinger Slum to the edge of the Chasm of Umbrae in the Fettinger Farmlands.
It contains the Norrsidra Crimson Line, Norrsidra Copper Line, Norrsidra Golden Line, Norrsidra Cyan Line as well as the Norrsidra Purple Line and Norrsidra Green Line.
The South-Eastern Subweb, abbreviated as sW:SE services Zwistroad and connects to the Northern Subweb via the North-South Line West.
The South-Eastern Subweb contains the Zwistroad Crimson Line, the Zwistroad Copper Line, Zwistroad Golden Line and the Zwistroad Cyan Line.
At the southernmost edge of the City of Styx the newly constructed New Line connects the district Colonia to the Zwistroad Copper Line.
Finally the South-Western Subweb, abbreviated as sW:SW is the subweb which services the Sektori of Lakesore and which contains the Lakesore Crimson Line, the Lakesore Copper Line, Lakesore Golden Line as well as the Lakesore Cyan Line which leads up to the edge of the Leshivoi Forest in the district of Evengrad.
The Peregrine Webways are the preferred method of transport across the city of most citizens; ordering a private coach often takes longer than simply walking to the next rail station and waiting for the next tram.
The drivers of the trams which run the Peregrine Webways are part of the Union of Service Workers, Delivery Workers and Drivers.
