Aldtruth-Kept

The Aldtruth-Kept are those among Dwarves who consider the Skyward Crusade failed and over.

After the Rescent these Dwarves renounced the Church of the All-High and its teachings to return to their old faith, the clan-based worship of spirits of the land (Landtvættr), sea (Særvættr) and wind (Vindvættr).

Their belief that the Prophet-King Hyamir Skysmith is either a failed messiah or an outright false prophet brings them into often aggressive disagreement with the Skyward Orthodox who still cling to their faith in the Skyward Crusade.

The mythology of the Keepers of the Aldtruth recalls the Dwarves as maggots among the roots of the Prime World Disk and professes a connection to these still.
After the onset of the Bright the Aldtruth-Kept collectively shifted to a somewhat messianic belief that the World Root Jirask will one day grow into a tree large enough to shelter the whole Prime World Disk from the deadly rays of the Seven Suns in much the same way that the Umbral Cloak used to.
As such the World-Tree-Yet-to-Come is a focus of worship and belief among the Aldtruth-kept.
A honored magickal art among the Aldtruth-kept is that of the Dwarven Seers; dwarven spiritualists who cast their perception with the elements.
Windseers, Waveseers and Stoneseers respectively take important roles in traditional Aldtruth communities and serve as spiritual guides as well as navigators on voyages

Within the City State of Styx the Aldtruth-kept are significantly less accepted than the already contentious welcome Skyward Orthodox.
Since the Great Revolution the Republic of Styx has vowed to the openness of belief but as anybody not part of the worshipping Church of Serkatha can tell can their tales of thats a concept more than a lived reality.
Those Dwarves part of the Eldtruth-kept are treated with suspicion due to the perceived likeness of their traditions to those of the Eldest Faith of the Leshivoi Forest.
