Fort Hoist

Fort Hoist, located north of Brigge Ieg, is the commanding fort of Minnet Hwell, notably located off of the main island of Minnet.
Fort Hoist spans across two bridge islands and allows or prevents passage through the channel's bridges.  The fort is home to many soldiers who are involved with defense, inspection, and naval traffic control.
The fort works closely with Fort Light as a line of defense, and messages from Fort Brick can be sent if needed to Fort Hoist for emergency interception.
The Neast Ieg and Swest Iegs have towers with cables connected to giant gears which can be drawn and pulled to lift the bridges and raise ships out of the water if needed.  As ships are paused as the bridges are raised, officers will board and inspect the ships with speed and thoroughness.

History

Fort Hoist was built to man the bridges connecting Brigge Ieg to Moethe, as well as to monitor incoming and outgoing naval traffic along the popular water route.
